Overview
The Khinalig to Galaykhudat hiking experience is a full-day journey from Baku into the Greater Caucasus, combining a scenic mountain drive with one of Azerbaijan’s most authentic village-to-village trekking routes.
After an early pickup in Baku, the drive leads to Khinalig, a UNESCO-recognized mountain village and one of the highest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe. Upon arrival, guests take a short walk through the village streets, visit a locally owned museum, and enjoy a traditional home-cooked lunch.
The hike begins in the afternoon, following historic paths across open alpine terrain with wide views of the surrounding mountains. The route includes gradual ascents and gentle descents and is suitable for beginners.
The hike ends in Galaykhudat village, where guests are welcomed into a local home for a traditional dinner before returning to Baku by vehicle.
This tour is operated on a private basis and can be adjusted depending on pace and preferences.
