Transcaucasian Trail – TCT

A long-distance hiking route connecting Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia across the Greater Caucasus. The Transcaucasian Trail (TCT) offers one of the most diverse trekking experiences in the region — from remote mountain villages to high-altitude passes, from deserts to alpine meadows.

About the TCT

The Transcaucasian Trail is a developing network of long-distance hiking routes across the Caucasus. The project aims to connect communities, support sustainable tourism, and create access to remote mountain regions.

TCT Azerbaijan

In Azerbaijan, the Transcaucasian Trail runs through the Greater Caucasus, linking remote mountain regions and traditional highland villages. Its easternmost point reaches the Caspian Sea near Beshbarmag Mountain — a well-known pilgrimage and historical site. After crossing diverse landscapes — from semi-desert terrain to alpine mountains — the trail continues westward to the border between Azerbaijan (Balakan) and Georgia (Lagodekhi).

May – September is the main hiking season, depending on altitude and snow conditions.
