Your team on the ground in Azerbaijan
We are a hiking and trekking company based in Baku, running private programs across Azerbaijan, from the Greater Caucasus in the north and the forested Talysh Mountains in the south to the lowlands around Baku, with Gobustan’s rock art, the mud volcanoes and the Absheron Peninsula. Once your group lands, we handle everything: guides, transport, permits, camps, guesthouses and meals. Your clients get a well-run trip that matches what you promised them, and you get one local contact who answers fast.
Some groups come to stand on a 4,466 m summit. Others come to walk from one mountain village to the next and sleep in family homes along the way. We run both, and both can be combined in one trip.
We’re planning the 2027 season now. Partner groups are confirmed in the order requests come in.
Two ways to explore Azerbaijan
Village-to-village trekking
For trekkers who want the culture, mountains and the people who live in them.
Our treks follow shepherd paths and sections of the Transcaucasian Trail between high villages: Khinalig, Griz, Haput, Galaykhudat, Laza, Kuzun and others. Some of these communities speak languages found nowhere else in the world. Groups walk through alpine pastures and canyon edges, eat home-cooked meals in village houses and sleep in family guesthouses on wool mattresses. In the south, forest trails in the Talysh Mountains lead to quiet villages and waterfalls. Daily luggage delivery means clients only carry a day pack.
- Easy to demanding day stages, with no technical sections
- Guesthouse-based, so tents aren’t needed on most routes
- Season: some routes are open all year. The most popular months are May to October
- Works as a stand-alone trek or combined with a summit climb
Summit climbs
For hikers who want a serious objective.
Bazarduzu (4,466 m) is Azerbaijan’s highest peak, Shahdag (4,243 m) is the second highest mountain followed by Tufandag (4,191 m). Neither is technical, but both are high, remote and physically demanding. Climbs start from backcountry basecamps reached by 4×4, with horses carrying the camp gear, and crampons may be needed depending on conditions. Groups can climb one peak or combine both. For mountaineering clients looking for a new 4,000 m objective, they are a natural next goal.
For a summit that stays below 4,000 m, we also lead climbs of peaks around 3,700 m such as Ataturk (3,755 m), Heydar Aliyev (3,751 m), Gizilgaya (3,726 m), Babadag (3,629 m) etc. Their season is longer, and they make a strong final day on a trek.
- Prior trekking experience required
- Camping at basecamp, with acclimatization built into the plan
- Season: June to October for peaks above 4,000 m, and May to November for peaks around 3,700 m
Combine them
Many of our best trips do both. A group treks village to village up to Khinalig, then heads into the high pastures for a summit attempt. The trekking days act as acclimatization, and clients finish with both the culture and the climb. Cultural days fit into any program: Baku’s old city, the Gobustan rock art and mud volcanoes, or historic towns along the way.
Every program is built around your group. Length, difficulty, comfort level and meal plan are adjusted to your clients and your price point. Tell us what you have in mind and we’ll send sample itineraries with rates.
Why Azerbaijan, why now?
- Quiet trails. Far fewer hikers and climbers than on better-known mountain destinations, with short flights from Europe and the Gulf.
- Living mountain culture. High villages, local hosts, Transhumance Route and Transcaucasian Trail give your clients stories to tell, not only photos.
- A destination your clients haven’t done yet. Azerbaijan’s mountains are still missing from most trekking catalogs, which gives you something fresh to offer your returning clients.
How we work with operators
Detailed, honest planning. Every program comes with a day-by-day plan covering distances, ascent, hiking times, overnights and meals. We describe conditions as they really are, including guesthouse conditions, camp setup and steep sections along the route. Your clients arrive knowing what to expect.
Safety first. We pace treks and climbs realistically, check conditions every day and carry satellite communication where there’s no signal. If the weather calls for it, we change the plan. We never promise a summit; we promise a well-run attempt.
Everything handled locally. We arrange border-zone and national park permits, 4x4s and horsemen, guesthouse hosts, luggage transfers and camp logistics. You deal with one team.
Flexible formats. We run fixed departures for your catalog or private groups on your dates, and we price by group size. On larger groups, the group leader travels free.
