Overview
The Sim village hiking experience is a full-day journey from Baku into the rich forests of the Talysh Mountains, located within the Hirkan National Park region.
The day begins with a pickup in Baku and a drive south toward the subtropical landscapes of the Lankaran region. The scenery gradually changes from open plains to dense forest, offering a completely different environment.
Upon arrival in Sim village, guests are welcomed into a local home where a traditional lunch is served. The village is known for its peaceful atmosphere and connection to nature, offering insight into the lifestyle of the Talysh people.
After lunch, the hike begins along forest trails leading toward the Shirhal (Sim) Waterfall. The route passes through dense vegetation, moss-covered paths, and shaded terrain typical of Hirkan forests. Our longer break is planned to be at the local viewpoint to the village and valley. The trail can be slightly slippery in sections after the rainy days, adding a sense of adventure.
The hike concludes near the waterfall, a hidden natural feature surrounded by forest. After returning from the trail to the village center, the group begins the drive back toward Baku, with a traditional dinner arranged during the journey.
This tour is operated on a private basis and can be adjusted depending on pace and preferences.
